Custodian (8 hrs/day) – [1st Shift Expo]
[8 hours, 6:00am-2:30pm]
Reports To: Custodial Manager and Building Principal
Primary Function: To provide a clean, comfortable, safe, and efficient environment to all occupants of the building. Also responsible for performing building mechanical and electrical equipment maintenance to ensure a safe learning and working environment.
Qualifications:
Mobility/Agility
- physical strength and ability to work continuous hours on feet
- ability to frequently lift and carry moderately heavy supplies, equipment, and furniture
- ability to occasionally lift and carry heavy supplies, equipment and furniture
- ability to work outside and inside and in extreme temperatures/humidity
- ability to climb a ladder up to 10 feet in height
- ability to remove snow and ice from walks and to mow lawn
- mobility/agility to perform all phases of custodial work
Organization/Supervision
- good organizational and time management skills
- ability to maintain confidentiality
Interpersonal Skills
- excellent attendance and the ability to work independently are essential traits, required to be successful in this position
- ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with teachers, students, fellow employees, and students
- ability to work effectively with staff, parents, and community members regardless of race, national origin, gender, disability, age, or social economic status
- effective communication skills
- Previous building maintenance experience preferred
- Knowledge of heating, air handling and mechanical equipment
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures
- Working knowledge of plumbing systems
Duties:
- Perform all phases of custodial work generally assigned to custodians in the district.
- Supervise facility needs for school events and rental activities.
- Work overtime for school activities and outside rentals.
- Other duties as assigned by the Custodial Manager or Building Principal.
